Different Voices - Fran Francis

Different Voices.001.jpeg

Our month of hearing different voices continues with Fran Francis (Spiritual director, SGMNZ, Shore Vineyard) sharing a talk on ‘Benediction’ and the four active thresholds of listening to God’s blessed word; recognising, realising, respecting and reflecting.

May you learn to see yourself with the same pride, delight and expectation with which God sees you in every moment.

Our Sacred Togetherness - pt 3 / Committed to Connection

Screen Shot 2019-01-17 at 4.29.40 PM.png

As we start 2019, our summer series is asking the call to be a supernatural community. In this third and final part Dan suggests how we can achieve sacred togetherness: by committing to connection.

If a tree falls in the woods, and there is no one there to hear it - does it make a sound? What if a person falls into need of help, and there is no one connected to that person to see it - does the need get met?

As we start 2019, our summer series is asking the call to be a supernatural community. In this first part Dan introduces a new richer and deeper definition for “community”: our sacred togetherness.

Communities, in spite of the sentimental way we sometimes think of them, don’t just happen. They need nurture, they need to be woven into unity.

The God Interruption - pt 3 (From apprehension to peace)

The God Interruption - pt 1 (From absence to hope).001.jpeg

Join us for our Advent journey as we look at The God Interruption. Our waiting for Christ continues, with a Roman version of peace-as-smokescreen colliding with God’s arrival as Peace-Incarnate.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
— Isaiah 9:6

The God Interruption - pt 1 (From absence to hope).001.jpeg

Join us for our Advent journey as we look at The God Interruption. Our cultural story says that Christmas is for the good boys and girls, but that isn’t actually how the story of Christmas begins – it starts with some desperate people living in the absence of their God.

TAKE COURAGE MY HEART
STAY STEADFAST MY SOUL,
HE’S IN THE WAITING.
AND HOLD ON TO YOUR HOPE
AS YOUR TRIUMPH UNFOLDS,
HE’S NEVER FAILING.

Peripheral - pt 24 (Your heart is most important / Mark 7:14-23)

Peripheral__.jpg

Join us for our journey through Mark's gospel recording of Jesus. In part twenty-four, Alisha Wiseman shares on how vital it is to keep our attention on the condition of our hearts and how our hearts can change.

You can’t change merely by changing your thinking, or through great acts of will, but rather by changing what you love the most. God needs to be the object of our hearts greatest love.
— Timothy Keller
